New PostErstellt: 13.10.06, 18:32     Betreff: Re: Reviews: She-Hulk [vol.2] ( 2005 - heute )

Hi! Just I've seen a lot of posts online where people are confused about how current Marvel Continuity all fits together-- and how SHE-HULK fits into that. If you haven't read ALL your Marvel Comics for the past 5 months or so, expect to have a few things SPOILED.

Here are my thoughts:

In FANTASTIC FOUR:
Hulk & Thing fight in Vegas. This is a catalyst for...

in THE ILLUMINATI:
...Reed and Tony decide to shoot the Hulk off into space. Setting up...

PLANET HULK:
...where Hulk begins his EPIC adventures on Sakaar. These adventures will span a GREAT AMOUNT of time. One of these early adventures involves the Silver Surfer-- so right there, you know that this has begun WELL before the Silver Surfer ANNHILATION mini.

Meanwhile, back on Earth...

Over in SHE-HULK #6 and #7:
Starfox gets in trouble and asks She-Hulk to defend him in court. This case goes on for a week or two... before Mentor and Isaac circumvent Earth justice and teleport Starfox back to Titan BEFORE the trial can be concluded. This is just one of many super-hero abuses that gets the public fuming-- and primed for the events of...

CIVIL WAR #1
The Stamford incident occurs. Everything goes crazy. The New Warriors (minus Nova) are held responsible, due to the cavalier way they risked everyone's lives.

She-Hulk helps with the clean-up of Stamford.

There are rumblings of a POSSIBLE Superhuman Registration Act...

She-Hulk goes on CNN, taking a very Pro-Reg stance.

Everyone shows up at the Baxter Building for a meeting of the minds. (It's at this meeting where Uatu, The Watcher, shows up).

Later, when confronted by S.H.I.E.L.D., Captain America makes his choice-- and goes rogue.

...meanwhile, NOVA is off in space with the Nova Corps of Xandar. Probably BEFORE the NOVA ANNHILATION mini.

SHE-HULK #8
In the wake of the Stamford incident, New Warriors are being outed by an online hate site. As their lawyer, She-Hulk tries to get an injunction against the site. The issues raised during the court proceedings causes her to examine her stance on the Pro-Reg/Anti-Reg issue.

In SHE-HULK #9
(Told in flashback) Mr. Zix is talking to mysterious voices-- voices that are concerned that She-Hulk had contact with UATU, THE WATCHER (during CIVIL WAR #1).

SHE-HULK #8
John Jameson proposes to She-Hulk... She says yes!

CIVIL WAR #2
She-Hulk, Yellowjacket, Mr. Fantastic, Ms. Marvel, Tigra, Doc Samson, and Iron Man defeat a giant Doombot in NYC.

A day or so later, the Registration Act passes.

A day or so after that, a late nigt press conference is called on the East Coast, where...
...Spider-Man unmasks!

Over in AMAZING SPIDER-MAN, Jonah freaks out!

Meanwhile, She-Hulk and John are hightailing it to Vegas where they...

SHE-HULK #9
...elope and get married!

The news cycle is still playing Peter Parker's unmasking on a non-stop loop! It's all anyone can talk about.

Jonah is even MORE ticked off-- because of a possible amnesty clause in the SHRA. Suddenly, there's a break in the news as the media learns about the Jameson/Walters wedding.

Jonah goes bat-@#$% crazy.

We get the wacky "My Dinner With Jonah" story in SHE-HULK #9. Jameson comes around to having Shulkie as a daughter-in-law (trust me, it works-- you just have to read it).

With bridges mended, She-Hulk writes the editorial piece for the DAILY BUGLE: CIVIL WAR edition.

BLACK PANTHER
She-Hulk and John go to the Black Panther's wedding. And... oddly enough... Uatu appears AGAIN! Hmmm...

SHE-HULK #10 through #13 (these 4 issues take place over the course of a single day and night)
She-Hulk, John, and the Two-Gun Kid work as a team to register remaining unregistered heroes. (And they're pretty nice and logical about it too.)

Smythe infects John with something via a tiny spider-slayer. He becomes the Man-Wolf again.

She-Hulk and Two-Gun have to track him down...

(And, if you're a completist, this is where the TWO-GUN KID one-shot fits in).

Two-Gun shoots the Man-Wolf with a silver bullet-- so She-Hulk and Two-Gun have to rush him to the hospital. (The same hospital where Dr. Jane Foster works. Hmm...)

In order to save himself, John (who has been fighting his Man-Wolf-side) gives in to the full potential of his power and-- once again-- evolves into the Stargod.

If things weren't crazy enough, a NEW trial for Starfox is starting-- this time on the moon of Titan.

As a member of the Magistrati, She-Hulk is required to attend the trial as an offworld observer. When she explains who the Magistati are to Stargod, she says: "They're kind of like the Nova Corps of Xandar, but instead of space-cops, they're space lawyers."

One of the things we can take from that is that if the events of the NOVA: ANNIHILATION mini have occured (which they probably have by now), the news has not reached Earth.

Anyway...

She-Hulk travels to Titan. There, she runs across Moondragon (who's updated to her ANNIHILATION look-- but has both ears) and Phyla (who's still calling herself Captain Marvel and still wearing a version of the Genis-Vell uniform).

This places the night that SHE-HULK #10-#13 takes place BEFORE flashback scene in ANNIHILATION #2-- where Phyla retires her costume and Moondragon loses an ear ring the hard way.

Oookay. I'm not going to spoil what happens in SHE-HULK #13, but here's the last big continuity timeline bit of stuff I can throw your way...

The battle for Yancy St. (as scene in FANTASTIC FOUR and AMAZING SPIDER-MAN), the big fight from CIVIL WAR #3 and #4, and She-Hulk acting as Speedball's lawyer over in CIVIL WAR: FRONTLINE...

...all take place AFTER She-Hulk comes back from Titan.

WHEW!

Hope that helps.

Just keep in mind that both PLANET HULK and ANNIHILATION take place over an EPIC amount of time. And, so far, the events of SHE-HULK #6-#9 take place over a week or two, and the events of SHE-HULK #10-#13 take place all in the span of one day and one night.

And my take on the whole Negative Zone Prison vs. the events of ANNIHILATION? Simple.

The Negative Zone? It's big. Real big. It's a whoooooole nother dimension. A dimension filled with a ga-zillion worlds. Let's put it like this:

The Negative Zone... it's bigger than Australia. That's fair, right? So, imagine a friend of yours calls and asks you to meet him somewhere. You say "name the place." He says, "Australia," and then hangs up. What do you think your chances are of successfully hooking up? Not good, right? In my mind, that's how you can have this big ol' Negative Zone prison and NOT have it show up over in Annihilation. Why? Because the Negative Zone is big.

Double whew!
