Interessante Theorie vom bendis Board
Zitat:
It's Captain Marvel's logo. Mar-Vell.
I've been saying since Civil War #1, that using Nitro to blow up the school and start the "civil war" seemed like a red flag.
I mean, when was the last time we saw the character Nitro get used? I haven't seen him since 1978 or so when he gave Mar-Vell the cancer that killed him a couple years later.
(For the same reason, when we saw Black Goliath in #1, we shoulda known he was a goner. We haven't seen HIM since Marvel-Two-In-One #55 or something.)
So why use Nitro? Because if Speedball says to himself, "This is all Nitro's fault. I'm gonna go back in time and kill Nitro in his crib!", thus undoing Civil War... but ALSO inadvertantly making it so Mar-Vell never gets cancer.
So if there's no Nitro, there's no Civil War AND Mar-Vell never died. And if Mar-Vell never died, maybe Spidey never got perspective on how short a superhero's life can be... so he never proposed. And so on, until all the continuity "problems" that Quesada wants to fix are gone.
Other clues have been Mar-Vell's son Genis was killed in Thunderbolts (and you know Marvel's gotta have a Captain Marvel, otherwise DC will petition to have the Shazam! logo changed back). And there's also the sweet Bowen Designs Mar-Vell statue that's coming out next February... right around the time of Civil War #7. |
