Anthony Phillips, der erste Gitarrenzauberer bei Genesis vor Hackett, präsentiert demnächst sein neues Album Wildlife. Zudem wird sein erstes Album von 1977 "The Geese and The Ghost", an dem auch Phil Collins, Mike Rutherford und John Hackett beteiligt waren, al Remaster wiederveröffentlicht.

Und zwar signiert von Ant für alle Preorders bei Camino (Hacketts Plattenladen)!

The Geese and the Ghost ist ein wirklich fantastisches Album, das in den letzten Jahren kaum auf CD zu finden war. Ich selbst besitze auch "nur" die Vinyl-Fassung. Wer die alten Genesis - insbesondere Trespass - mag, wird auch diesem Album viel abgewinnen können.

Bei dem neues Album Wildlife handelt es sich um Soundtracks für die BBC Doku-Serie Natural World. Was für Musik das genau ist, vermag ich nicht zu sagen. Ant bewegt sich mit seinen Alben zwischen instrumentaler akustischer Gitarrenmusik, elektronischer Musik, Gitarrenpop, Folk, Prog, Piano und was weiß ich noch alles.

As if that wasn't enough, the 30th anniversary 2 CD remastered reissue of Ant's 'The Geese And The Ghost' is also available for PRE-order (release date 14th April). Again, all PRE-orders will be signed by Ant!

The Geese And The Ghost was originally released in 1977 and features performances from Mike Rutherford, Phil Collins and John Hackett alongside Anthony. The album itself has been expertly remastered from the original master tapes by recording engineer and co-producer of the original album Simon Heyworth. Und schon wartet das nächste Phillips Remaster in den Startlöchern: Wise After the Event kann ab sofort vorbestellt werden bei Steve Hacketts Camino Shop.

Ich höre das Album immer wieder sehr gerne. Es ist insgesamt poppiger und "rockiger" als The Geese & The Ghost. Ants Gesang ist etwas gewöhnungsbdürftig

, passt aber irgendwie zur Musik, die mal sehr stark nach Trespass klingt, mal folkig, mal einfach nur wie Anthony Phillips

Originally released in 1978, 'Wise After The Event' has been remastered from the original master tapes by Simon Heyworth for this 30th anniversary 2 CD reissue. It includes the non-album track 'Squirrel' as an extra track on disc one.

Disc two includes no less than 64 minutes of variations, demos and alternate versions of the songs from the album, including some unique new mixes made from the original multitrack masters especially for this release. The edited single version of 'We're All As We Lie' (which has not previously been available on CD) is also included.

Lustig, daß gerade mir altem Genesis Haudegen :-) der Ant bisher verborgen blieb. Hab kein Album von ihm, aber zumindest bei den Torrents eine "Epping Forrest" DVD runtergeladen. Bin schon gespannt wie mir die Musik von ihm gefällt...

Nun bin ich auch im Besitz der "Geese and the Ghost", im vorzüglichen 2CD-Reissue.

Bin jetzt gerade beim Titelsong, und es ist bisher eine fantastische CD - wie aus dem alten England, ein etwas besser produzierter, bombastischerer Mike Oldfield, eine etwas entromantisierte Moody Blues und ein "Trespass" mit etwas weniger Rock. Damit will ich die Gans nicht über diese genannten Vergleiche stellen, auch nicht drunter... ich lass es erstmal offen, zumal die Seite 1 sich mir noch nicht ganz erschlossen hat...
